Thanks to baseball for placing a strong emphasis on great typography in their logos and uniforms since way back. The roots of it all are still planted in the embroidery process, which for a long time may very well have been the only place the logos really existed in the beginning. There is a tradition of stylized lettering in baseball that is all it's own. This Angles "A" logo is a modern take on that tradition. The letter form in this logo is not overly ornate but instead kept simple. A gold halo encircling the top point of the letter is just the right amount of reference to make this logo a great example for this top 100 list.
